Academic, Bar Exam Success and Career Services Support Fellow, School of Law
Job Summary:
Teach bar preparation courses and provide individualized academic, bar support, and career support to visiting GGU students. Under the direction of the ABES Co-Directors, the Law Faculty fellow will teach and perform teaching-related duties such as developing leading lectures, develop syllabi, teaching materials; preparing, giving, and grading examinations with appropriate feedback; provide individualized bar support and academic counseling; mentor and tutor students; and review writing samples and essays.

Job Responsibilities
- Teaching Responsibilities (.75):
- Teach Academic Foundations and Advanced Legal Analysis courses for GGU students
- Teach Spring Mastery Monday workshop series involving 5, 2-hour workshops for 3L students
- Teach 5, 2-hour Summer Bar Bootcamps
- Teach 2, 3-hour Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination (MPRE) workshops
- Provide individualized bar instruction to visiting GGU students through individual and small group sessions
- Offer guidance on MPRE, Moral Character Application, Accommodation requests, and deadlines.
- Provide feedback on student work products as needed.
- Teach Academic Foundations and Advanced Legal Analysis courses for GGU students
- Career Planning and Application Support (.25):
- Teach workshops on career planning and preparing successful applications.
- Meet with GGU students to discuss career questions, job strategies, and opportunities.
- Review and edit resumes and cover letters.
- Prepare students for applications and interviews, including conducting mock interviews.
- Advise students on offer decisions, salary negotiations, and professional expectations and norms.
- Connect students to GGU alumni.
- Teach workshops on career planning and preparing successful applications.
Minimum Requirements:
J.D., California bar passage, and knowledge of the legal job market and 2-3 years working for an ABA accredited law school in academic support services.
Understanding and commitment to USF's mission, vision, and values. Must possess a strong equity lens, cultural humility and a proven ability to work with a diverse student body, faculty and staff.

- Experience in the academic support arena, specifically preparing students for the CA bar.

Work Environment:
Some work may be done remotely, but courses, workshops and individual meetings and office hours will be in person.

$70,000 - $80,000 annualized; commensurate with experience
